Tyson Fury is now in final preparations for his bout with Francesco Pianeta next week in Belfast but should he win it is widely thought that he will next fight WBC champion Deontay Wilder before the end of the year.
The fight when it was first mooted came a bit out of nowhere a few weeks ago but what a fight for the heavyweight division, and, in all fairness, a nice consolation prize for boxing fans who wanted to see Joshua vs Wilder this year.
Fury asked fans on Twitter today the following:
Who thinks this fight will happen this year? pic.twitter.com/b7Dnby6wSe

Fans however have let him have it for the most part:
Don’t bother talking about it if you have no intention of it. Simple.

Could say the same about Anthony Joshua

Why you asking us? You’ve told us it’s practically done ?

If it does it shows how bent the @WBCBoxing is considering you’ve had one **** fight in 3 years and @DillianWhyte would be far more deserving of a shot

The way you was talking the other week is ya people get this fight on with no messing about yet again we are all left waiting and waiting to get it confirmed! Would be good but would be even better to have it confirmed!

By all accounts it appears to be very close to happening but like anything in boxing, until it is signed on the dotted line – anything can happen.
