WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is probably making his way back to his hotel right about now following what was a hectic scene earlier on at Tyson Fury’s weigh-in in Belfast.
The scenes happened at the Europa Hotel as the pair clashed following Fury weighing in.
Fury’s father John Fury had to be restrained at one point in a confusing, clearly hype-driven scene.
The wheels are in motion as they say.
The fickle swell of public opinion among boxing fans has now forgotten about the Joshua vs Wilder fight for the time being.
Instead, with the prospect of a Wilder vs Fury fight just around the corner, fans have been arguing in their droves online about how a possible fight might go later this year.
Of course, the winner of such a fight will make a showdown with Anthony Joshua next year absolutely huge.
Without a doubt the biggest fight in boxing.
A fight, in theory, that would see all four belts be held by one genuine, undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
For his part, here’s what WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder had to say on social media following earlier on’s chaotic scenes in Belfast:
I’ll tell you one thing….. man this fight is going to get a bit #Wilder. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
