Wilder and Fury Get Mobbed During Altercation In Belfast

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder have been re-acquainted with one another today in Belfast following Fury’s weigh in earlier ahead of his fight tomorrow night.

Although Fury takes on Francesco Pianeta, and the fact Carl Frampton tops the bill tomorrow night in Belfast, all anyone is really talking about is Wilder and Fury.

There’s something of a carnival atmosphere when it comes to heavyweight boxing.

Its the one division in the sport that transcends everything in terms of its ability to cause a fight to end with one punch in the ring – and its mainstream appeal to casual sports fans outside the squared circle.

Boxing is a like a soap opera these days.

Wilder and Joshua played their parts well today in building what promises to be a super fight before the year is out.

Rocky Fielding on Twitter (hat tip) was in the crowd today as both Fury and Wilder dove straight into the thick of things with members of the public between them:

All aboard the hype train.

Next stop, Windsor park tomorrow night.

Of course, Francesco Pianeta will be looking to derail this train tomorrow night and rain on everyone’s plans.

As so often has been the case as this sport’s brutal, unforgiving history tells us.
