Tonight’s world title fight involving Irish Olympian Paddy Barnes started off with a whirl wind of action but unfortunately for the brave Irishman it wasn’t meant to be.
Taking a world title fight in only his 6th pro fight, the courage it showed to do that alone was quite remarkable.
WBC flyweight champion Cristofer Rosales from Nicaragua proved a cut above in the end as he stopped Barnes inside the distance.
A perfectly placed right hand to the body of Barnes, a painful shot, brought a halt to the contest in round number 4.
Barnes started the fight quite well however and can take some positives from the early action.
Ultimately it was just his 6th pro fight and he has plenty of time in his pro career to regroup from this.
Hats off to Rosales though, on ward and up ward for him.
Here’s the perfect body shot tonight that stopped the bout in round 4:

A cracking punch in fairness that not many could get back up from.
