Heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte was less than impressed with what he saw from rival Tyson Fury last night in his unanimous points victory over Francesco Pianeta.
Whyte is ranked number one with the WBC at the moment behind champion Deontay Wilder but strangely it’s Dominic Breazeale who is mandatory contender for some reason.
This should be resolved after the next edition of the rankings. One would hope at least.
Whyte has had two big wins this year in the form of Lucas Browne and Joseph Parker but it looks like he’ll have to wait another while for his shot with Wilder expected to have another voluntary defense next up – against Tyson Fury.
Whyte was watching his win last night in a pub or restaurant judging from his Instagram and branded Wilder a coward as well as promising to knock out Fury in five:

Typically candid remarks from Dillian Whyte there.
Its been a big year for Whyte overall and no doubt he’ll be looking to round it off with a third big win before the year is out.
Recently Dereck Chisora had a big knockout win over Carlos Takam and fought Whyte in a close decision loss not long ago.
With both fighters looking for an opponent at the moment and the world title belts tied up for now, perhaps a rematch between the two before Christmas could be an option?
