The Wilder vs Fury purse split has been agreed by both parties it has been confirmed today by legendary promoter Frank Warren.
Typically the purse split is always the main bone of contention when trying to make big fights.
Money and ego always play a part in big time boxing, unfortunately, but this hasn’t been the case this time round.
Following Fury’s win last night over Francesco Pianeta in Belfast promoter Frank Warren confirmed that the fight is on.
A formal announcement is expected tomorrow to confirm date and venue.
Speaking today on BBC Radio, Warren has now revealed the purse split for the fight and how the negotiations went:
“They both have agreed terms. They’re satisfied with their money and they both want the fight so it’s a done deal. It was a very quick and smooth negotiation to make this fight.”
He added:
“It’s 50/50. That’s what it is. We’re pleased. He’s pleased. I’m pleased.”
Good news all round and great to see a big fight like this being split down the middle.
With all the negotiations out-of-the-way fans can concentrate on enjoying the build-up and ultimately one of the biggest fights of the year.
Full steam ahead Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury.
