Lineal heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury and highly ranked contender Dillian Whyte have gone toe to toe verbally on social media following Fury’s win this past weekend.
Whyte was one of the notable names in boxing who came out and slammed Fury’s points win over Francesco Pianeta this past weekend.
He posted a video on Instagram making fun of the fight in Belfast and was less than complimentary towards Fury.
Now Fury has responded on Instagram with a stinging response, saying:
Whyte has seen the response and issued his own earlier on:
Unlike you I’ll fight anyone. @Tyson_Fury u refused to fight me as I knocked you down so many times in sparring and if you pull out in November with yet another fake injury I’m more than happy to take your place and smash up that other coward @BronzeBomber
— Dillian Whyte (@DillianWhyte) August 20, 2018
Sparring usually stays in sparring so for Whyte to come out and say the above, claiming he knocked down Fury, there must be some genuine needle there between the two.
It doesn’t look like a fight between the two is realistic next up however as Fury is due to face WBC heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder next up in the US in November or December.
Certainly one for the future though.
