In fresh rumors Filipino boxer star Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao is thought to be seriously considering signing with promoter Eddie Hearn and new streaming platform DAZN.
DAZN is the new streaming service which launches in the United States next month, who’s boxing content is being headed up by boxing promoter Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport.
The new streaming app will also have Bellator content for mixed martial arts with plans to expand to other sports in the US over time.
For boxing fans the streaming app will also have next season’s World Boxing Super Series.
It appears that Pacquiao is currently considering a number of offers from promoters such as Hearn and Bob Arum of Top Rank.
One big fight mentioned as a possibility for Manny Pacquiao would be a showdown with UK boxing star Amir Khan, who currently trains in the US and fights in the UK next month against Samuel Vargas.
If Pacquiao were to make a move to Hearn this fight would certainly be an easy one to make as Khan currently is signed with Eddie Hearn as his promoter.
Speaking on this possibility, Khan told EsNews:
“Manny is a very smart businessman as well. He’s made a lot of money in the game. If he thinks and feels that is the best kind of move it’s a great business move to make that kind of money (moving to DAZN) then I think he will. Listen, I think it is a great business move (moving to DAZN). Eddie (Hearn) is making big moves in boxing so it could be the new big move, yeah.”
Amir Khan vs Manny Pacquiao would certainly be a big fight on both sides of the pond, no doubt about it.
