Boxing star Mikey Garcia is also in talks at the moment to join Eddie Hearn and streaming platform DAZN as the race heats up between the networks and platforms in American boxing to sign or hold onto the top-tier boxing talent.
Eddie Hearn and DAZN were in Boston earlier this week for the Billy Joe Saunders vs Demetrius Andrade press conference ahead of their fight in October.
Hearn met with representatives in Boston of team Pacquiao and talks were reported to have been very positive.
Pacquiao recently told Lance Pugmire of the LA Times that he expects to box again on December 2nd against an opponent to be confirmed.
One fighter mentioned as a possible opponent is Mikey Garcia.
Although, he’s also been linked with an Errol Spence showdown before the year is out.
Speaking to EsNews, Garcia said:
“Eddie has been pretty aggressive with a lot of the offers he’s been reaching out with. He’s been putting out some strong and serious offers out there.”
He added:
“I even told him one time, you’re coming on strong but it’s still not really enough to move some of the fighters you are trying to approach, you’re going to have to really come on even stronger. For the average fighter that might be a significant increase in pay and that might move a regular fighter but some of these stars you’re trying to get after…”
Pacquiao has promised to box three more times in total.
One more this year and two more in 2019.
