Tyson Fury has taken to social media straight away following some reports that he might have been reconsidering the Deontay Wilder fight this week.
A comment from Dan Rafael on his chat forum on ESPN suggested Fury was thinking about not going ahead with the fight later this year.
Promoter Eddie Hearn also during the week expressed sentiments that the fight between the two might not happen.
Now Fury himself however has taken to Instagram and put to be any such rumors by saying in his Instagram story:
“I’ve been reading and I’ve heard some rumors that this fight is off with me and Wilder. Not on my watch it ain’t. I’m not pulling out of nothing. It’s on like Donkey Kong. Tyson Fury is like a king coming to America!”
Good news for boxing fans.
Fury also added that he will commence training on September first which will give him nine or ten weeks to get ready for Wilder – indicating an early December fight date most likely.
Las Vegas is understood to be the leading contender to stage the bout at this point in time.
Fury defeated Francesco Pianeta last weekend in Belfast via a ten round unanimous points decision.
