While the Amir Khan vs Manny Pacquiao fight is not dead in the water for the end of the year, it is looking more and more likely that Khan will take on Kell Brook. Unless something can happen abroad to make the Pacquiao fight promoter Eddie Hearn says.
Kell Brook recently said he will fight Amir Khan at 147lbs and has already started training for a potential Khan fight in December so he can get back down to welterweight in time.
Speaking to IFL TV to Wingy, promoter of Amir Khan, Eddie Hearn said:
“I think because of the money Pacquiao wants and that Amir wants to fight Pacquiao, probably the Brook fight (is next). I’ve looked at the money for the Pacquiao fight in the UK and I think, again, going back to the money both guys want for the fight, the best chance of the fight happening is if an overseas investor comes in and it happens in Dubai, or we saw his last fight in Kualumpar (against Matthysse).”
Hearn is also one of the current promoters in the running to sign Pacquiao, so if the fight doesn’t happen this year, it could very well happen next year at some point.
Khan fights this weekend against Samuel Vargas at the Birmingham Arena which will be live on the DAZN US Facebook and Twitter pages.
