Tyson Fury Compares Himself To Mayweather and Roy Jones Ahead Of Wilder Showdown

Tyson Fury has given an update this morning live from the gym, looking trim and motivated as boxing fans wait patiently upon an announcement for venue and date for his world title fight against Deontay Wilder.

It should be announced next week at the latest during fight week of Golovkin vs Canelo but some have suggested that it could be as late as the week after on fight week of Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin.

I’m not too concerned in the delay however, it will happen in December, but fans would like to hear when they can book flights and hotels as soon as they can.

Speaking this morning on social media Fury has said that while Wilder possesses a big punch, he reminded people of how many times fighters like Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones fought big punchers who could not land a glove on them:

To be fair, the heavyweight division is a lot different, granted Jones fought Ruiz at heavyweight but Ruiz was a small punching heavyweight.

But with guys as big and powerful as Wilder and Fury, where even a shot not landed totally flush from Wilder – it can still do serious damage.

Fury will need to be at his most razor-sharp ever against Wilder but no doubt him and his coach Ben Davison will devise a game plan in the coming weeks for Wilder.

Tactics are going to be absolutely vital for Fury if he’s to pull of the win.

As for Wilder, we know what he’s going to do.

He’s going to swing until he can’t do so anymore and try to knock Fury out cold.
