Amir Khan Views Manny Pacquiao As His Defining Fight

UK boxing star Amir Khan returns to the ring this weekend against Samuel Vargas but has his eyes on some big prizes afterwards should he win this weekend.

Khan and Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao have been long time friends from their days of training and sparring together under the guidance of Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.

But, both at this stage of their careers are now willing to put friendship aside to make what would be a huge fight.

Wherever and whenever it happens.

Speaking in a media scrum ahead of his fight against Vargas this weekend, Khan said:

“We have to get past this fight first before we talk about Manny Pacquiao or anyone. I love the Manny Pacquiao fight. I think that is the defining fight that is going to make me and put me where I need in the sport of boxing. If I beat Manny Pacquiao it will put me where I need to be.”

The intent between both Pacquiao and Khan to make the fight is there.

It seems to be a matter of logistics at the moment however in terms of getting the fight made for the right money in the right jurisdiction.
