Canelo Alvarez has posted a video of himself at the beginning of fight week that in many ways points to the direction tactically he’s looking to pursue this weekend against Gennady Golovkin.
If you go back to the first fight a year ago the success that Canelo had come when he boxed on the back foot.
He was able to frustrate Golovkin in spots. Particularly early on in the contest.
Listening to the interviews from his coaching staff coming into this weekend’s mega middleweight rematch in Vegas, they all are saying things that make me believe that Canelo will look to box and move and not engage Golovkin toe to toe.
Now, Canelo has posted this video showing off blistering hand speed and a far trimmer build than a year ago:

Team Canelo obviously believe they can outbox Golovkin over the duration of the twelve rounds.
I’m expecting a classic case of cat and mouse, fighter vs boxer on Saturday night.
If Golovkin wants to win it will be up to him to cut the ring off sooner than he did before.
For Canelo, he’ll need to be even sharper and slicker on his feet if he’s to pull off a decision.
