Canadian David Lemieux and Irishman Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan fight on this weekend’s Golovkin vs Canelo rematch card in Las Vegas.
Former world champion Lemieux is still on a bit of a comeback trail after been comprehensively out boxed last December by WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders.
He’s since got back in the winners column but ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan represents his first real challenge since the Saunders fight in truth.
O’Sullivan and Lemieux have made no secret about one another’s dislike for each other on social media and Saturday night not only sees two big punchers collide, but two big characters outside of the ring too.
Speaking at the grand arrival in Las Vegas Lemieux said:
“I’m excited for Saturday night. I promise you some fireworks. I hope everyone enjoys the show. He has a big mouth. He likes to talk garbage on social media. He’s not the best kind of guy. I’m going to knock him out and make a lot of people happy. I’m at 100% right now. You’re going to see David Lemieux who is at his best this Saturday.”
This weekend’s fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena with the winner more than likely in line for a shot at a world middleweight title in the new year.
