Amir Khan’s promoter Eddie Hearn has given an update on current talks with Manny Pacquiao’s team.
Its been a busy week for Pacquiao between ongoing talks with promoters and networks, including DAZN and Eddie Hearn.
Plus clarifying a miscommunication with his old promoter Bob Arum.
Amir Khan returned to winning ways this past weekend and looks set to take on either Kell Brook or Manny Pacquiao in his next bout.
Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV Hearn said:
“Amir if he had his preference would fight Manny Pacquiao. He’s always wanted to fight him. He thinks he is a big global star and that would be his preference.”
He went on to say:
“I think the Pacquiao fight would take place in early December or the Kell Brook would take place in later December. In an ideal world Amir would wait until February or March to fight but Pacquiao wants to fight in December.”
On speaking to Pacquiao’s representatives so far, Hearn added:
“Yes (I’ve spoken to team Pacquiao since the Khan fight at the weekend). Several times. They want the fight. They like the fight. It’s just a case of where, money, various different things.”
If the fight is to be made for this side of 2018 you’d have to think a deal will need to be done by the end of this month.
