The Canelo vs GGG 2 fight purse has now been confirmed and it’s safe to say everyone fighting tonight in Las Vegas will do quite well financially.
Big time boxing returns to Sin City tonight at the T-Mobile Arena and will see the two best middleweights on Earth collide once again.
The fight almost didn’t happen because of arguments over the financial split but at the last-minute Golovkin got his pay increase granted and the fight was on.
As per the Nevada State Athletic Commission, the following are the declared fight purses for tonight:
Canelo Alvarez: 5 million dollars
Gennady Golovkin: 5 million dollars
Spike O’Sullivan: 400,000 dollars
David Lemieux: 200,000 dollars
Jaime Munguia: 250,000 dollars
Roman Gonzalez: 200,000 dollars
It is important to note however that the above are just the declared purses and the fighters will actually make much more depending on how the fight does at the gate and sells on pay per view.
You can imagine a fight of this proportions will see Golovkin and Canelo earn well over 15 million each when all the revenue streams are added up.
That’s been conservative too.
If the fight were to say do over two million pay per view sales in the US alone, they could end up making much more depending on what’s in their fight contracts.
