A lot has been made about how different Canelo looks this weekend for his rematch with Golovkin compared to how he appeared in the first fight a year ago.
Weighing yesterday Canelo looked very lean, shredded and clearly a lot less bulky than he did a year ago.
The game plan looks to be one built for speed and stamina tonight and most are expecting Canelo to try to outbox Golovkin and score a unanimous points decision.
Speaking to Boxing Social Hatton reacted to his changed physique by saying:
“I think that’s incredible. Where did Canelo find steak that makes you lose weight? (laughs). I could never find steak that f****** made me lose weight!”
Tonight for Canelo will all be about tactics and if he is looking to move and box on the outside, judging distance and staying off the ropes is going to be key.
He’ll need to keep the fight in the middle of the ring and try to frustrate Golovkin but keeping him off for the whole twelve rounds is not going to be easy.
A fascinating fight for many reasons – all shall be revealed soon enough.
