Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Lennox Lewis has given his feedback on last night’s middleweight championship fight in Las Vegas.
Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez battled it out for a second time in a fight that Canelo got the majority decision but a bout in truth that could have gone either way.
While some have screamed robbery the fight was a lot closer than their first battle a year ago.
Most people seem to agree on that.
Therefore the robbery notion does seem a bit of a reach.
Golovkin knew he had to stop Canelo last night.
Lennox Lewis has pointed to the fact the fight was a thriller to watch:
I actually thought it was close but still had GGG taking it by at least two rounds. Both fighters came to leave it all in the ring! #GGGvCanelo2

He added:
I called it how i saw it. Maybe there were a some rounds that could have gone either way. It was a great fight with two great warriors. I have nothing but respect for both of them. #GGGvCanelo2

He’s summed it up well there. Big respect to both fighters.
