James ‘Chunky’ DeGale has now confirmed his next fight’s particulars with an opponent to be named shortly.
The British world champion won his IBF title back at super-middleweight in his last bout against Caleb Truax back in April after a shock defeat to Truax last year.
Since then however he’s been very inactive.
Now though, he has a date:
I’m boxing in a 8 rounder September 30th in L.A on the #OrtizvsMolina bill… when I get through that iv got something nice and juicy for you in December ????

If he gets three fights in the one year that will be a nice way to end an otherwise frustrating year for the world champion.
Hopefully he gets a big fight in December like he’s promising – the super-middleweight division is absolutely buzzing at the moment.
At the end of the month George Groves and Callum Smith meet in the final of the World Boxing Super Series.
The winner of that will surely be on DeGale’s radar.
DeGale is still the only fighter from the UK in the history of boxing to ever win both an Olympic gold medal in the amateurs and a recognized, legitimate world title in the pro ranks.
