Amir Khan is fresh off a win over Samuel Vargas in the UK. The former world champion has given his take on this weekend’s big heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin.
Khan, like Joshua and Povetkin, has plenty of Olympic pedigree himself.
Speaking to William Hill YouTube – Khan said of the fight this weekend:
“I think it’s a tough fight for Joshua. Povetkin was in the Olympics with me when he won a gold medal. Povetkin is a very tough operator but I just think with Joshua’s power, movement and youth under him, I think he might take the fight.”
He added:
“But like I said you’re always one punch away in the heavyweight division from getting hurt. You seen what happened to David Price against Povetkin. I just feel that Joshua has a little bit more but look, if he makes a mistake he can get hurt as well.”
He concluded:
“I see this fight going the distance.”
The bout will be shown live on DAZN this weekend Stateside and on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK.
