The month of December is shaping up to be a monster in boxing after Floyd Mayweather said he is having a rematch with Manny Pacquiao. A bit of news that has changed a lot of things already – including a possible Khan vs Pacquiao fight.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has been in talks with Manny Pacquiao’s representatives for sometime regarding signing him to new streaming platform in the US – DAZN.
Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV Hearn said the fight against Khan now doesn’t look likely:
“Pacquiao’s guys have been in touch and said we’re still interested in the fight but obviously the Mayweather fight is our preference. I don’t think so (that it will happen). But you never know with Mayweather because he’s a cheeky so and so, you know what I mean. No (I don’t want to see the rematch). The first fight was poor.”
All hinges on the Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 fight really.
Mayweather’s video last weekend has really thrown a spanner in the works for all the big fights being planned for December.
Pacquiao has confirmed this week that either way he will have a fight next up confirmed and finalized.
