The heavyweight champion of the world looks in frightening shape ahead of this weekend’s fight with Alexander Povetkin at Wembley.
Joshua appears to be coming in for this fight light again.
Cutting back on the weights and focusing more on boxing technique works appears to be paying off, both physically and technically.
Joshua has long carried a lot of muscle going into his fights but as is common knowledge in boxing history, it rarely ever helps heavyweight fighters.
Boxers require a large amount of stamina, even in the heavyweight division.
Carrying too much muscle has proven to be ineffective traditionally for fighters.
Speed kills at the end of the day.
Joshua as seen here by the folks at IFL YouTube (hat tip) was absolutely smashing the pads with trainer Rob McCracken:
A warm reception for him at York Hall in London.
Povetkin also looked in top shape when he took to the open workout ring a short time ago.
He’s not coming over to just make up the numbers this weekend.
He’ll look to go out on his shield whatever happens.
