Amir Khan has chased a big fight with both Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao over the years but looks set to miss out on the latter again.
Khan has come to the realization that chasing such fights is pointless and seems to be willing to be patient and let things play out in due course over the coming weeks.
Speaking to Fight Hype, Eddie Hearn said his conversation with Khan after Khan heard about the whole Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 news went like the following:
“Lets look at the money. I’m open to both fights (Manny Pacquiao and Kell Brook). Lets look at the numbers. Lets see what happens with Pacquiao (and Mayweather) and let’s go from there.”
Khan is also in line to face Kell Brook next which is probably the most likely scenario for him at this point.
Whether or not that fight happens in December however is questionable for two reasons.
One, does it give Brook enough time to lose the weight he needs to in a healthy fashion to get back down to the welterweight limit of 147lbs?
Two, the month is quickly becoming full up date wise with a host of other major fights expected to take place this December.
So competition for dates and clashing of fight cards is going to be unavoidable.
