Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin has shown the extent of his marks of battle following this past weekend’s heavyweight title fight with Anthony Joshua.
A rain-soaked Wembley wasn’t to be dampened when it came to the main event of the evening.
A 7 round tactical but brutal in the end fight that showed Anthony Joshua now has been hardened and seasoned as a professional even when taking on a man 11 years his senior – an established veteran in Povetkin.
A bone crunching fight hand set up by the jab closed the show in this end on Saturday night and Povetkin has uploaded the following in Instagram revealing his stitches and battle scars:

Where Povetkin goes from here is up to him but he showed early on in the fight on Saturday that he can still mix it with some top heavyweights if he wants to continue at a high level in boxing.
Early on in the fight he was quick off the mark and caught Joshua with some decent shots.
This is something Joshua can’t afford to let happen if he were to fight someone like WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
