This week it has been widely reported that Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao may have done a deal, or be on the verge of doing a deal with US boxing manager Al Haymon.
Haymon also runs Premier Boxing Champions which at this time has the deepest roster of talent in American boxing and tends to be shown predominately on Showtime and Fox.
Promoter Eddie Hearn who announced a billion dollar deal with DAZN this year to stream fights in the US is in direct competition with Haymon.
Pacquiao had recently been linked with Hearn and DAZN but it would appear Haymon has now become the front-runner to secure his services.
Speaking AB Boxing News Hearn reacted to the news by saying:
“Yeah possibly, we’re in talks (to still sign Pacquiao to DAZN). I think the whole Haymon thing would be working towards a Mayweather fight (with Pacquiao). That would make sense if Mayweather is going to fight in the Spring to maybe do Broner first (for Pacquiao in 2019, then Mayweather after). We’ve certainly have had chats with Pacquiao as we are with a dozen fights are so at the moment. It will be interesting to see what his (Pacquiao) next moves are.”
Hearn was speaking ahead of his first US promoted show this weekend on the DAZN streaming network taking place on US soil in Chicago.
