Yesterday it was widely reported that Al Haymon had signed Manny Pacquiao to a management agreement but no official news has come at this time from Pacquiao himself.
That said, Al Haymon who is known as one of the most powerful figures in boxing, doesn’t do interviews, so don’t expect him to confirm that he’s signed Pacquiao if indeed he has.
Pacquiao on the other hand should comment on the news in the coming days.
But by all accounts a deal has now been struck between Haymon and Pacquiao for two fights next year.
Bouts expected to come against Adrien Broner first up in January and then against Floyd Mayweather later in the year.
Speaking to EsNews Garcia said of Pacquiao vs Broner:
“That’s a good fight. Broner has got skills.”
On Pacquiao vs Mayweather 2:
“I don’t want to see that. No one wants to see that.”
On a fight between himself and Manny Pacquiao:
“That would be a good fight. We could probably do that sometime next year after Spence.”
A fight between Errol Spence and Mikey has not been confirmed either yet.
One thing is for sure though, there is a lot going on in the welterweight division at the moment in a weight class that is well and truly stacked at the moment with elite level fighters.
