Terence Crawford could find himself in some hot water after this weekend’s fight after he lost control at the weigh-in and swung for his opponent.
The WBO welterweight world champion is usually quiet and engages in little trash talk in his boxing career but something really got under his skin yesterday at weigh-ins.
He fights Jose Benavidez Jr this weekend in his hometown of Omaha but the fight instead of tonight nearly got started at the weigh-in:

Incredible scenes to be fair.
What an Earth caused or provoked that is unclear just yet but the bad blood between the two is very clearly genuine.
Crawford goes into the fight tonight as a strong favorite and knows another impressive win could position him for unification bouts at 147lbs in the new year.
In a stacked division at 147lbs at the moment Crawford is one of the few top welterweights currently not aligned or signed to Al Haymon.
So, if any of those unifications do happen in the new year, it will need Crawford to either box on Showtime or Fox or one of the Haymon fighters to temporarily leave those networks and fight on Crawford’s network ESPN.
