Jose Benavidez put up a strong fight this past weekend against pound for pound rated Terence Crawford who won by 12th round TKO but Benavidez’ star will have grown from the loss after his display and the fact he was shown live on ESPN to the masses.
Benavidez clearly got under Crawford’s skin in the build-up after ‘Bud’ threw a bare knuckle punch at him during the weigh-ins.
Ultimately the uppercut for Crawford proved to be key punch and overall, he showed once again just how quality an operator he really is.
Benavidez was shot in the leg two years ago and told he would not walk again – let alone fight someone on the level of Terence Crawford.
So it’s fair to say what he’s come back from already is a serious accomplishment in itself.
This reaction to the loss last night says it all about his character really:

He let no one down at all.
No doubt we’ll be hearing about him again in the future with a strong attitude and mindset like the one he has exhibited after the first loss of his professional boxing career.
