Former world title challenger Gary Corcoran came up short again in his latest battle but what a battle it was for eleven rounds before the contest ended.
Johnny Garton won the vacant British welterweight title in what proved to be a hugely entertaining fight with Corcorn at the Brentwood Centre in the UK.
Only last year Corcoran challenged for the WBO welterweight world title against Jeff Horn and after a strong effort was stopped by Horn inside the distance.
He bounced back with a win since then but last night lost inside the distance again, but his stock will only have went up after an exhilarating tussle with Garton.
Garton added the British title belt to his collection with this stoppage (hat tip BT Sport Twitter):

Great fight true warriors. Shame about the audience participation in the early rounds. No need for it. Hopefully all concerned are in taxis on route home
