It was a devastating finish in the end with a shot that would have knocked out anyone by Usyk. How Bellew managed to at least finish the fight on his feet was nothing short of remarkable after this.
The dust has settled on this weekend’s fight in Manchester as Cruiserweight kingpin Usyk looks set to move up to the heavyweight division and vacate his four titles at cruiserweight over the coming months.
Bellew said the fight would be his last one either way win or lose, so expect him to take a break from the media spot light for the immediate future.
Usyk is going to have a well-earned break until March or April before he starts plotting his assault on the heavyweight division.
For anyone who might not have seen his latest knockout this past weekend, here it is once again:
An incredible punch but in fairness to Bellew, if he wanted to sit back and try to lose on points or be more conservative, he could have.
Granted, Bellew was up on the cards but the tide was beginning to turn for Usyk.
You have to respect the fact that Bellew still decided to give it everything and go out on his shield like a true warrior.
