For those who remember WBO middleweight champion Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin you’ll know other than being a top fighter in his prime, he’s a real student of the game too.
Many top-level fighters are in fact passionate fight fans outside of their own careers.
Quillin has been off the scene for a while this year since a bout with Caleb Truax but recently gave his take on the upcoming Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner fight on January 19th.
Speaking to Fight Hub, Peter Quillin said:
“My thing is that Pacquiao is the more experienced fighter. He’s the more explosive fighter. He’s fast but his age is definitely a factor in this fight. Adrien Broner I think is a very talented fighter, right, but it’s hit or miss with him as far as that level of fight. I’d put all my eggs in the basket for him as he’s a black brother and I think we need more black people to be doing better in life.”
He went on to say:
“Like I said, it’s about Pacquiao and Adrien Broner and who I think will win — I think Manny Pacquiao wins the fight off of his experience, his speed and his legs.”
The fight will be formally announced tomorrow at a press conference in New York.
