One of the world’s brightest prospects in professional boxing Josh Kelly from the UK stunned the boxing world today after news that he would not be fighting David Avanesyan as planned tonight in the UK.
It was due to be the biggest step up of Kelly’s career to date but has pulled out on the day of the fighting saying:
Certainly disappointing news but that said — a fighter’s health is a fighter’s health at the end of the day.
Nothing is more important and if his illness was getting progressively worse he was left with little choice in the end.
One would imagine the fight will be rescheduled as soon as possible in the new year.
