Former WBC light-heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson recently slipped into a coma following his fight with Ukraine native
Oleksandr Gvozdyk who won the belt from Stevenson inside the distance.
Following the fight however Stevenson was taken to hospital due to medical complications caused from the knockout and went into a coma.
However there has been some good news reported on his condition.
According to news outlet Tass, the former champion opened his eyes and spoke to relatives as he awoke from the coma and his condition has now become more stablized compared to the previous critical condition he was in.
No official information has come as of yet however directly from Stevenson’s team or family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time.
Stevenson reigned as the WBC light-heavyweight champion for a number of years and was on track for some big fights in the new year until this tragic event happened.
