Adrien Broner appears to be more motivated than he has been for a long time in relation to his professional boxing career.
In recent years Broner’s love for the sport seemed to have waned despite him being a four-weight world champion and seemingly having the world at his feet in prior years.
Speaking to the media at a press scrum this week — Broner believes that the fact he is here doesn’t come as a surprise to him at all:
“I’ve meant to be here. It’s just a bigger magnitude. I always thought I’d be a pay per view fighter and it starts with Manny Pacquiao on January 19th.”
On what’s motivating him he explained that it’s his kids’ futures:
“Staying focused. Dedicating myself for the next 4 or 5 weeks and me and my kids will be straight for the rest of our lives.”
Broner really did come across this week as a man focused and already had shed a lot of weight from what he was carrying only a few weeks ago at the initial announcement press conference.
If he keeps this up for the next month this could be a genuinely explosive fight between him and Pacquiao.
The bout takes place at the MGM Grand in Vegas January 19th live on Showtime pay per view.
