This past weekend boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez recorded his latest victory in the form of an impressive third round stoppage over Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden.
Moving up to 168lbs for the fight, Alvarez put on a clinic and delivered perhaps the best body shots of his career to date.
Its been many years since his points loss to Floyd Mayweather at this point — a defeat that came when Mayweather knew he was getting Canelo at a good time really.
The Canelo of today is obviously a far more accomplished fighter given the added experience he now has.
But Mayweather for some reason, despite Canelo never having a bad word to say about him — continues to troll boxing’s newest superstar:
Alvarez’ win at the weekend likely sets up a unification fight back down at middleweight next up for him against Danny Jacobs on May 4th.
Mayweather fights a Japanese kickboxing world champion in a three round boxing exhibition at the end of the month in Tokyo.
