Recently unconfirmed reports suggested that former WBC light-heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson had temporarily come out of a coma following his last bout that resulted in knockout defeat.
Sadly this is not the case however.
According to the Associated Press there has now being an official communication from the promoter of Stevenson.
Promoter Yvon Michel said Thursday:
“Doctors do not venture an opinion on what lies ahead” and “needs mechanical assistance to breathe.”
It is understood that Stevenson’s condition has not improved at this time at all since he initially was taken into hospital following his last fight and fell into a coma following an injury to his brain.
We wish him a speed recovery at this time and thoughts and prayers go out to Adonis Stevenson, his family and loved ones ahead of the holiday season during this difficult time.
