Keith Thurman On The Main Weapon Broner Can Use Against Pacquiao

Keith Thurman will finally be back in the welterweight fold next year after overcoming some long standing injury problems and he’s keeping his eye on a big upcoming fight in his division accordingly.

Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner throw down on January 19th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas live on Showtime pay per view and Thurman believes there is one main weapon that Broner needs to utilize against Pacquiao to be successful from a technical standpoint on the night.

Speaking in an open media scrum to members of the press at this weekend’s Charlo brothers card in New York, Thurman said:

“I don’t like that fight. It’s a hard one man. It’s hard to predict Adrien Broner. Who knows what kind of emotional state he is going to be in, how bad he wants it? I like this fight for Broner though. He’s fighting an older Manny Pacquiao.”

He added:

“I think Adrien Broner is also going to compete well with Manny Pacquiao being a southpaw and Broner’s number one asset is the straight right hand. That can play a big role that night.”

He went on to say:

“As Manny being a southpaw, for me it’s really up to AB. He is the younger fighter. He can be in superior strength and conditioning if he’s up for it and prepared he can to do something that he wouldn’t be prepared to do otherwise which is — put respect back on his name.”

Not long to go now before we find out.
