Belfast’s Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton suffered only the second defeat of his professional career this past weekend but only after sharing the ring in a modern day classic with world champion Josh Warrington.
Warrington’s youth and engine perhaps proved a little too much in the end but those saying Frampton’s best days might be behind him are missing the point of the display both he and Warrington put on.
I think it’s fair to say there would be more than one or two people who would watch these two fight in the new year again.
Despite the crushing emotional nature of the loss, Frampton has shown his true colors in times of adversity by how he has reacted to a tough time in his life:
Fair play.
No doubt more big fights will await in the new year as his stock will have only risen after that fight of the year candidate on Saturday night.
