Jermall Charlo scraped past his latest opponent Matvey Korobov this past weekend at the Barclays Center in New York in what proved a largely disappointing weekend overall for him and his brother Jermell.
Jermell lost a highly controversial decision to Tony Harrison which many have claimed was a robbery since.
As for his twin brother Jermall, his win over Korobov was less than impressive but he knows this anyway.
He thinks that as a consequence he has a better chance of getting a Canelo or Golovkin showdown in 2019.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV he said:
“Now they (Canelo and Golovkin) are going to want to fight me. Now they are going to think I’m vulnerable or something. They don’t know how tough that dude was. They going to think I’m vulnerable (said while smiling).”
Not the craziest theory out there but Canelo looks set for Danny Jacobs next up.
A Golovkin vs Charlo fight might not be out of the question next for him however.
