Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is in Japan and settled in his hotel now ahead of tomorrow’s three round exhibition bout that will be staged by Japanese promotional outfit Rizin.
Mayweather took some questions from the media upon arrival yesterday and looked tired and like someone who’s just flying in for a job to collect a pay cheque for minimal work.
Fair play to him in that regard.
The ‘fight’ itself is set for three rounds and it has now been confirmed that long time respected professional boxing referee from the US Kenny Bayless will be the man reffing the bout.
A man very familiar with Mayweather, there is a clause in the fight contract that penalises anything used outside of boxing rules in the fight which Bayless will no doubt be very strict on.
The whole fight has a carnival feel to it. No one really knows what’s going to happen tomorrow.
A genius marketing ploy in itself, really.
People will be tuning in and looking up reports on the internet out of sheer intrigue to see what the hell is going on or what happened.
Same old Floyd.
Expect entertainment (of some description) tomorrow in Japan.
