Mikey Garcia steps up to welterweight this year to take on IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence in Spence’s home State of Texas.
A tough fight for him but one he has to be commended on given the fact both are in their primes now, undefeated and regarded in most people’s top ten pound for pound lists.
Garcia’s trainer Robert Garcia is also keeping a close eye on the upcoming Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner fight this month on January 19th — knowing a fight against either could be possible for Mikey Garcia later this year.
On how he sees the fight going Garcia told EsNews that:
“I’d be very surprised if Manny knocks him (Broner) out, honestly. I think Manny wins by decision but if he wins by knockout he (Pacquiao) still has it.”
The bout takes place January 19th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
