There appears to be a hell of a lot of confusion going on at the moment regarding the potential heavyweight debut of Ukraine pound for pound supremo Oleksandr Usyk this year.
A number of names have been thrown into the hat for the fight as have a number of possible dates.
Nothing has been confirmed as of yet for him and at this point no one knows what a potential deal for Usyk to fight any heavyweight this year actually looks like.
Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker’s promoter David Higgins has reportedly denied they’ve turned down a fight from the Ukraine boxer:
One suspects we’ll hear news in the next ten days regarding when and where Usyk will fight and if indeed it will be up at heavyweight at all.
Or if he’ll opt to stay at cruiserweight where he’s the undisputed champion.
