Rigondeaux Reacts To Having First Fight Since Losing To Lomachenko

Guillermo Rigondeaux wasted little time in erasing painful memories of losing to Vasyl Lomachenko when he chalked in a first round stoppage win last night over opponent Delgado in LA.

The left hand proved to be the key weapon and allowed ‘Rigo’ to shake off some ring rust back down at his usual weight class of super-bantamweight.

Speaking after the win the Cuban amateur and professional boxing great said:

“This is my division. This is my time.”

He added:

“I am the king of one hundred and twenty two pounds (super-bantamweight limit). I felt one hundred percent tonight. Delgado is a good fighter, I take my hat off to him and his team. I came prepared and I am ready to face people that are undefeated. Whoever has a belt — I am taking it. You can expect me back in less than two months for my next fight.”

Speaking on social media he had this to say to fans after a fairly lengthy hiatus from Twitter since losing to Lomachenko last year:

It is understood that Rigondeaux will be back out again in under two months time and could box anywhere between three to five times this year potentially.
