Former WBO middleweight champion of the world Billy Joe Saunders, also good friend of lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury — has put the boot in on Jarrell Miller following this week’s big news in boxing.
It was confirmed this week that Miller has landed a shot at heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on June 1st in Madison Square Garden in his home city of New York.
Saunders has wasted little time in blasting the challenger on social media:
No mincing of words as per usual from Saunders.
As for Miller, he’s come in for a lot of flack as has Joshua since yesterday’s news but in fairness it could be worse.
Sure, we all want to see Joshua fight Wilder and Fury next but we’ll just have to wait until the end of the year for one of those fights to happen as annoying as it is.
Patience is a hard thing to come by for boxing fans these days having been spoiled with big fights in recent years.
That said, the fans power the entire sport and if the Joshua vs Fury or Joshua vs Wilder fight isn’t made by the end of the year fans will only get more angered.
As for Saunders, he is now likely to get a fight on with Demetrius Andrade next up who currently holds his old WBO middleweight title.
