Pound for pound boxing talent and current IBF welterweight world champion Errol Spence is gearing up for a big fight next month against fellow pound for pound star Mikey Garcia.
Spence will have home State advantage with the bout taking place in his native Texas and will be the naturally bigger fighter of the two with Garcia moving up two weight classes from lightweight to contest the title.
He’s not taking his eye off the ball though. Far from it.
He knows the speed and ability of Garcia will be something to be very mindful of and he’ll need to be at his absolute best come next month when that first bell goes.
Another fight he’s not afraid of whatsoever (should he get past Garcia) in the welterweight division is one with Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
Speaking to media members in an open media scrum Spence said on a fight with PacMan:
“I’ll fight Manny Pacquiao anywhere. Definitely in the Philippines or anywhere else.”
Senator Pacquiao recently recorded a unanimous points victory last month over Adrien Broner in Las Vegas.
Should Spence beat Spence next month it is not inconceivable that a Pacquiao match could happen later in 2019.
