Anthony Joshua has been coming in for an awful lot of necessary flack lately but say what you want about him, the man is a huge star in the sport of boxing in the UK and worldwide and very soon — should be in the US too.
An iconic moment took place this week with Joshua and his team ringing the famous New York stock exchange bell.
A huge moment for Joshua and also for the sport of boxing’s continued resurgence in the States:
Great stuff, a big moment for boxing without doubt.
He did the above ahead of the beginning of the promotion for his first fight in the US which will be against Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller on June 1st at the iconic Madison Square Garden in NYC.
While the Miller fight isn’t the Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury fight that everyone wanted and in the eyes of most one that Joshua should win comfortably, it is still a big deal for Joshua as it’s his first fight in the US and proves that he was never afraid to fight outside the UK all along.
Far, far from it.
Joshua is a pure fighter and when the times comes expect him to put it all on the line against either Wilder or Fury.
Provided he wins in good fashion on June 1st expect to see a big fight with either Fury or Wilder before the end of the year.
Most likely in the US.
