With respect, the term turning up to collect a pay cheque might apply to this Saturday night’s heavyweight fight for former WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne.
A proud champion and fighter in his day, the condition he turned up in a short time ago for his weigh-in ahead of his fight with undefeated prospect Joe Joyce tomorrow has not gone down well with people at all.
People hoping he had trained hard to push Joyce tomorrow and give him a strong test.
Judging by this it doesn’t appear to be the case which is highly disappointing to people who have paid for tickets this weekend in London:
As you can see, it’s not gone down well with the fight fraternity at all at all.
That said, boxing isn’t a body building contest but at the same time the above is by far the career heaviest Stiverne has weighed in as a professional boxer.
Joe Joyce and his team will no doubt be going all guns blazing right from the first bell now.
