Chris Eubank Jr comes in for a lot of unfair criticism sometimes regarding his boxing skills but last night in his win over James DeGale he showed he is capable of learning and listening to a coach.
His coach Nate from the Mayweather Boxing Gym in Las Vegas proved to be a key man on the night as Eubank Jr listened to instructions and boxed very well it should be said.
In years gone by Eubank Jr had his father in his corner during fights and more so involved in the training aspect of his career which didn’t seem to help him really improve fight to fight.
To Eubank senior’s credit he took a step back from things before this fight against DeGale and his son reaped dividends.
Ricky Hatton perhaps said it best really:
While senior is obviously an important part of his son’s career and a respected world champion of the past, perhaps this slightly less hands on approach for the rest of his son’s career could benefit things even more.
