Boxing legend and promoter Oscar De La Hoya recently came out and said he believes that a possible Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez rematch could generate near $1.5 billion dollars.
It’s hard to know what he was basing this on and on what model i.e. pay per view or subscription service revenue.
Oscar and his old buddy Floyd Mayweather often go back and forth in the media with one another regarding business and personal insults, so really, this could just be the usual smoke and mirrors and drumming up of publicity in the media.
